Raekwon The Chef – Latest & Greatest Hits Promo Cassette (1995)

via: HypeBeast via Philaflava

"Labeled as one of the greatest classics in Hip Hop Raekwon the Chef’s solo effort “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…” still sounds as fresh as in 1995. Witty wordplay and grimy beats were all a true Hip Hop fan could ask for. Thanks to dirt_dog of Philaflava the music world can now rejoice as a digitized version of Rae’s promotional cassette hits the internet. Here’s detailed information on this special treat."

"I had mentioned in the forum a few days ago that I stumbled across a box of old tapes in my basement. Some mixtapes, some promo samplers, some custom tapes from the days of trading. After posting a short list, it looks like the people have spoken and they want to hear just about all of them. So first up is Raekwon’s 1995 promo cassette sampler for the upcoming release of “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.” Nothing mind blowing here, but an exclusive freestyle and (at the time) an advance opportunity to hear a couple album cuts. NOTE: all scans are included in the .rar file as well as a full scan of the sleeve.

enjoy,

-dirt dog"

Secret Service of LA

My friend has just opened up a new shop/relocated to another spot in Downtown Los Angeles.

"We have a new location for the secret service LA. We are also having a party. So come to see the new place. The radest store in LA just got even more rad. Or even better come out to hang with me. There will be motorcycles, clothes, and alcohol."

Justice Has Been Served

Justice has been served, but it still doesn't bring back our dear friend April Whang whom we all miss and love.
"Schuetz was convicted today of one felony count of murder, and she faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in state prison at her April 30 sentencing in Santa Ana."

SADE: Making of The Album

Google Buzz = Twitter/FB killer?

iPhone 4G?

iphone-iresq-4g-parts

Like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, some claimed fourth generation iPhone parts have emerged from the corn fields business district of Olathe, Kansas. The supposed parts arrived at iResQ, an iPhone repair shop, and include a front panel which iResQ notes is 1/4 inch taller than the iPhone 3GS. This small increase in size could potentially translate into an iPhone with a 3.7 inch display, a size which is fast becoming the industry standard. The front panel also has a small reflective surface right above the earpiece that, no, is not a vanity mirror but may be a spot for the proximity sensor, a location that differs from the previous iPhone models. Bad news for those that are hard on their phone and tend to break not just the glass but the LCD panels underneath, as the LCD is reportedly glued to the digitizer and must be replaced together as an all-in-one unit. We don’t need to remind you that this dual-pieced part may cost a small arm and leg to replace. Last but not least, make sure your Martini glass is lined with a bit of salt as you’ll need those extra white granules while reading the unconfirmed contents of this post.

Mountain Hoes

I wish my friend James put this on Youtube, but if you have a FB account, I'm sure you can view it. I'll try to get the video and post it on youtube.

So this video was taken the last week of Jan 2010 in Mammoth during our friend's birthday. This was the after math coming back from Main Village to the Bronco. As you can see we all had a lot to drink and things got funny as we kept going on and rambling about whatever.

Kia SuperBowl Commercial

I thought this commercial was pretty funny how they used the Yo Gabba Gabba characters for the commercial.

Another Craigslist Moment

L.A. Night

Title: L.A. Night Artist: Yasuko Agawa Bluebird Records Recording :1986 Produced by: Augie Johnson Back in the early eighties, many of the soul and fusion recording artists travelled to Japan to record alongside local artists as well as releasing projects themselves. The result was a stream of imports that made the price of U.S. imports look positively cheap! Yasuko Agawa's LP was popular for her version of Light Of The World's 'London Town', which she re-titled 'L.A. Nights'.... This is a great tune from an album on Invitation Records, from 1984, that boasts input from Augie Johnson, Miki Howard, The Waters, Bobby Lyle, Victor Feldman And Vance Tenort (L.A. Boppers).
