The Lamborghini Project

This bar far one coolest projects that I've seen. This is an audio and visual projection that's using a Lamborghini Reventon as a blanket sheet of canvas. They mapped out all the shape of the car using a 3D model so the lights know where the canvas ends. Kudos goes to the guys at The Media Merchants that made this project happen.

The All New Toyota GT-86

Ever scene I saw this car at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon, I wanted it. I saw it yesterday at the LA Auto Show, but was a bit disappointed because it was the same concept car that I've been seeing the past year or two. From the news that I've heard about this car, it will be a car on my list to get and maybe retire the GT-R as a track car... NOT! Hahahaha. Anyways, enjoy the new footage that Toyota released and tell me what you think.

some info about the car:
2.0-liter boxer with D4-S injection (direct and port injected)
197 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm)@6,600 rpm
6-speed manual or automatic transmissions
17-inch wheel/tire package standard
4,240mm (167 in.) long, 1285mm (50.6 in.) high, 2,570mm (101 in.) wide

C-West GT-R GT Wing

"Designed for high speed circuit applications, the wing is extremely lightweight and strong owing to it’s carbon honeycomb construction. The wing is also easily adjusted by way of the set pins on each end cap."

-Kris Hunt GTRBlog

Thank you C-West

1/8 mph 132.74
1000ft 7.634
1/4 8.975
1/4 mph 169.49

More news to follow!

Edit:

Ok now that I have a little more time to post and not using Tim sanders I-pad track-side let me get a little more in depth.

First there are so many people to thank for this and I REALLY hope I do not forget anyone.

Of course all of our sponsors, without your support this would of been much more difficult. Your parts put us over the top!

Cobb Tuning
Darton Sleeves
Dodson Motorsport
Exedy Clutch
Ferrea Racing components
Injector Dynamics
JE Pistons
Kelford Cams
Nissan Motorsports
Sheptrans.com
Manley Performance

I want to give a special thank you to Tim Sanders, while it wasn't your car this run embodied your spirit. Without your passion for pushing the envelope we would not of had the ability to do it. Everyone here at the shop is grateful for your contributions to the GT-R community. Having you track-side while we broke the record meant more than you will ever know. You are and always will be family here before a customer.

Thank you to EVERYONE here at AMS! We are 30 plus strong and EVERYONE had a hand in making this happen. From Chris tuning the car and spending countless hours on the dyno to Tim Salefski building the strongest damn GT-R engine I have ever seen. Lets not forget the engineers and fabricators for making quite possibly the best damn parts on the planet! Ivan gets the gold star award though. Not only did he build the car he put his ass in the rocket and rode it down to an 8 second pass. When you see the video you will understand why I said "rode" ohmy.gif

Andew Hadeed and Habib from Rocket Science racing in Antigua. Traction was BAD but with there slightly larger M&H drag radials it proved to be JUUUUUUUUUUUST enough to help us crack that 8 second barrier.

Lastly and most importantly all of our GT-R customers. We have been at this game for 10 years now building performance cars. NEVER have we been embraced by a community so well. I really hope everyone appreciates how great this site is and how amazing this community is as a whole. Your constantly motivated us to be better and your unyielding faith is what drives us every day to build the best cars and parts that we can. THANK YOU!

And we are not done yet ;)

Failed GT-R Engine Temp Sensor

My engine temp sensor went out which caused my temps to fluctuate. The part is getting replaced under warranty.

When I discovered this issue, I was coming home from work late at night on the 10fwy. I set my cruise control to 66mph. When I got off the freeway, I flipped through my temps and I saw that my engine oil temp was bright RED reading 266 degrees. The next morning I took my car to the dealer and this is what I recorded.

Top Secret R35 GT-R Active Aero Wing

No numbers provided yet, but it looks promising. It reminds me of the F1 cars that have active aero on straightaways to pass the person in front of them. This wing though seems to be more active with air braking though. This wing can be yours if you have $4,200 to shell out. This wing seems to appeal to people that want to maintain an OEM look(sort of) because they don't like the aggressive Aeromotion's active aero wings which I'm a fan of.

AIT Widebody GT-R R35

It's getting close. A friend of mine has had his car away from him for awhile now and he should have it back pretty soon now. The car has the carbon fiber AIT widebody kit on it and is being painted piano black over at K&W Autobody(same people that painted my car). I can't wait to see when it's all put back together.

2011 GT-R with 2012 Daytime Running Lights (MOD)

A member of Nagtroc decided to take the DRL from the 2012 Nissan GT-R and install them on his 2011 front bumper. There was some modification needed and from the pictures that he provided of the work so far look pretty good. The triangles you see are going to be cut to provide better airflow and cooling that mimic the Nismo GT-R and Stillen GT-R.

********UPDATE******

Bumper now on the car.

MIne's 2012 GT-R Front Carbon Fiber Grille

For all you new 2012 Nissan GT-R owners Mine's just released this piece.

The grille features 3 fins that are designed to increase the vortex effect, thus increasing airflow to the top of the radiator.

Apple Table

I recently went to a Commercial post house in Santa Monica the other day. When I walked into one of the Flame bays, I saw this glass table top on top on of a bunch of old Macs. I'd thought it was cool (I'm not a Mac nerd at all) and I hope you think it's cool too.
