SoCal Fires Time Lapse

Moonlit Skies

This from one of my favorite emcees in hip hop, Aceyalone.

(Yeah...)
(Feels good)
[Chorus]
There's moonlit skies in the middle of the night
It's so surreal but it don't seem right
Look into the light with all your might and sprite
Take it to new heights, you're ready for the fight
[Aceyalone]
They start to swarm you, they never warn you
Jumping all on you and tryin' to harm you
If I was you which I'm hardly not
I'd tighten up game so I never get caught again
On again, off again, in again, out again
In the streets, in the pen, life's a whirlwind
Wife or girlfriend or just a mistress
Momma, daughter, grandma, the wife or sista
You can't resist it, you can't deny it
You can't reply, ya can't lie, ya can't get by
Ain't shit funny with a blinded eye?
I find it I just wanna scream mutha fucka die
[Chorus] - 2X
[Aceyalone]
Itty bitty footsteps, aches and pains
You wanna stake the claim
Someone should fake the game
Your indian dance don't make it rain
But it make it little harder try to break the chains
It's all the same, it's all in vain
All-City, all-state, all Terrain
But all somebody's wanna make a name
But it's all in the famly and all contained
I hope this dope don't kill you fast
Skills won't last, still in the past
Roll in the fast lane til' you crash
Now put your hands in the air, feel the blast
What's the conclusion about the solution pollution
I'm still trying to figure it out
But I'm cool down here boss, whatever the cost
I'mma still keep diggin' it out
[Chorus] - 2X
[Goapele]
Your showing me what I see (what I see)
It's not how you sadden me (if it ain't real)
I'd rather be miserable (and know where I am)
Illusions never sound, so derive
[Aceyalone]
Now ron law sound so raw
I hit the mic swiftly and clown all y'all
Now all y'all wanna all choose sides
I refuse to lose, now who's gon' die?
Not me, I'mma live forever
I'mma keep it together, do the weather with a feather in my hat
However if you know any better
You know I'm a veteran I'm clever and I will be back
Im on my own, and so is you
And everything I'm telling you is oh so true
It's all so new and old school too
I know somebody's listenin' but don't know who
Talk is cheap and life is cheaper
You up to ya neck but it still gets deeper
Check your beeper, check ya watch
Check ya phone, make sure ya two ways on
Hold your horses and let em' run
Let em' out the gate and have some fun
Pick you a throughbred and be number one
And pick one more and ride off in the sun
[Chorus] - 2X

Art&Copy

artandcopy

ART & COPY is a powerful new film about advertising and inspiration. Directed by Doug Pray (SURFWISE, SCRATCH, HYPE!), it reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time -- people who've profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry. Exploding forth from advertising's "creative revolution" of the 1960s, these artists and writers all brought a surprisingly rebellious spirit to their work in a business more often associated with mediocrity or manipulation: George Lois, Mary Wells, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow, Hal Riney and others featured in ART & COPY were responsible for "Just Do It," "I Love NY," "Where's the Beef?," "Got Milk," "Think Different," and brilliant campaigns for everything from cars to presidents. They managed to grab the attention of millions and truly move them. Visually interwoven with their stories, TV satellites are launched, billboards are erected, and the social and cultural impact of their ads are brought to light in this dynamic exploration of art, commerce, and human emotion.

Nokia N900

I for one am NOT a fan of AT&T. The Iphone is a cool device, but it's the service that AT&T provides that makes it a bad phone. Nokia is finally going to be releasing their iphone killer, the N900 and I'm sure T-mobile will get it. Ugh, 10 more months to go on this stupid contract.

Weekend Movie

Inglourios Basterds
I saw Inglourious Blasterds and I loved it. I have to go see it again maybe later this week.
Before the movie I treated myself to Diddy Riese cookies located across the street. It doesn't get any better than that y'all.

Training

I recently signed up for the Nike 10k run that will take place on October 24th. It should be fun to do since I have never done anything like it before. I'm going to start working out again to get myself ready for the run and of course snowboarding. Yes snowboarding season is coming up quick and I need to get ready so I can BURN my friend Sabrina down the mountain hahaha. I didn't get a chance to ride as much as I wanted to last season due to work and track days. I start a new work out plan this weekend and I'm going to stick to it. I even stopped drinking for good. I'm going back to my old ways and just sip on a ginger ale with lime.

Real Hip Hop

The days of real Hip Hop is long gone. Today is just nonsense and people still talking about how much money they have, smoking weed and what not. The days of Native Tongue ruled I miss a lot. They were Hip Hop and they knew it. The Native Tongue consisted of Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, Monie Love, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Black Star(Mos Def & Talib Kweli), Da Bush Babees, Chi Ali, & Black Sheep. There's a one of my favorite tracks from back in the day when Hip Hop was good. Please enjoy because it doesn't get any better than this.

MOVIES, MOVIES, & MORE

Last night I went with a couple of friends and saw District 9 at the Arclight in Sherman Oaks. This movie is set up like a documentary of some sort but it was good and bloody. It had everything from annoying Nigerians that you see in Japan(If you've been to Japan you know exactly what I'm talking about hahaha) to exploding bodies(both human and alien). I'm pretty sure that WETA did the effects for this movie and the effects were pretty damn good. Go check it out.

Also what's opening this weekend is "The Goods" with Jeremy Piven. I'm looking forward to watching this movie because it reminds me so much of the cult classic "Used Cars" with Kurt Russell. If you haven't seen "Used Cars", do yourself a favor and go see it and then go see "The Goods".

If you love comedy and if you're in the Los Angeles/Orange County Area, D.L. Hughley will be performing tonight and this weekend at The Brea Improve. I've always wanted to see one of his stands up. I'm going to try to make it out this weekend to catch one of his shows.

New Model

I got a new 2009 Nissan GT-R 1:18 die cast model in the mail a day ago. My friend Bryan Taylor sent it to me as a gift. It looks bad ass and thank you B. I will sit it next to my R34 Nissan Skyline that Gladys gave to me a few years back.

Maxwell Knows What's Up

Talk about a talented artist. He disappeared for a minute, but he's back with a new single. I know it's been out for awhile, but this track is becoming one of my favorites(made by him).

Sean Paul @ House Of Blue's(Sunset Blvd)

I went to a free Sean Paul show last night of at the House of Blue's on Sunset. My boy JayP opened up for him and he killed the crowd. It was cool to see our boys from DP Sound introduce Sean Paul. I love Reggae and this was definitely a good show.

New Idea For A Sitcom

Well yesterday while at home waiting to go the House of Blue's. I was talking with my mom(actually my friend's mom) and we were watching a show and then it just hit me. I had a great idea for a sitcom. She was thought it was great and so we talked about it for an hour breaking everything down. Later today She'll have a story/concept of the show written out and then we'll sit down and write the pilot. This is going to awesome!

Fresh Like '88

This year I've learned a lot about myself over the past 8 months. I realized that somethings you should take for granted and you gotta live life to the fullest and not let anything try to get you down. Sure there are some rough patches on the the road, but no one is perfect and everyone has their flaws. My main focus from here on out is to be constantly aware of my flaws and know when to correct them before anything bad happens. Towards the end of this year I'm going to focus on my list below and really try to get things moving in my life. Well it's time to focus on me and aim for the stars. Thank you to that special someone who has been helping me see what I need to do, love you. Now let's get started :)

G.I. Joe

The day started off chillin with Moon. I went to Moon's pad and and then headed out to the Audi dealership so he can service his car. While he was dealing with the service rep. I went over to the showroom to see if they had the new V10 R8 and sure enough they did. It was dark blue with carbon fiber blades & a v10 badge on both side fenders. I was pretty impressed because that's the way it should have been when they first released it. After eye fucking the car, Moon & I headed to the movies for some more eye fucking hahaha. We saw G.I. Joe and we both enjoyed watching it. There are a lot of haters out there that think it sucked. Moon and I went in with very low expectations and that's why the movie was entertaining to us.

Today Was A Good Day With P.Rod Nike SB Spot

It's Friday... Again

Today I'm at work sitting at my desk not really sure about what I'm going to be working on next while I wait on a render that should have been completed last night. I just kicked off a new render and now I'm going to search for music and look up stupid internet videos while I write this entry hahaha. So tomorrow by boy Moon and I are going to check G.I. Joe. I'm not excited to see this movie, so my expectations are very low. If it does suck I won't be disappointing hahaha.

I had a pretty relaxing evening last night. My friend Lynn from Otis College was in town and I met up with her, her dad(I haven't seen him since 2001), Shawn, and a few others college friends. We had dinner at RUSH in Culver City. The place was pretty good and had a cool vibe. The conversations were all over the place during dinner, but we all had a good time. Thanks for coming out Lynn(miss you). After that I went over to Afex(bar/club) for some 90's hip hop dance sessions. It seemed like a slow night, but it soon picked up and a few of my boys came through which was cool. They had a little trouble at the door trying to get in. I really don't know what's up with that place because the bouncer doesn't like to let people in. He always telling people that it's guest list only or special invite which a lie, because I never once got an invite nor have I ever rsvp'd for that place. Anyways... Nicole went up to one of the DJ's that was spinning that night and told him that it was her birthday so he went and got them all in. What was really funny was that the DJ was getting her drinks throughout the night because it was her birthday hahaha. Poor Nicole, she had too much to drink HAHAHAHA. Good times...

Back to Friday(today), yeah I don't know what I'm doing. I just spoke to the 2D coordinator and he doesn't have a clue. They told me to stop working on a shot yesterday and then he tells me to work on it, but make sure it's in a good place if we have to revisit it again. I asked him what do you guys want? You want to me to work on it or not? Now he's going to find me some bullshit clean up task... ugh... I'm over it all ready.

Tonight I'm going out to hang out with my boy Adey. We are going to celebrate his birthday so this should be fun. I haven't hung out with him in a minute.

And on that note...

Delonte West KFC Freestyle

If you haven't heard of Delonte West, he plays for the Cleveland Cavs. This a video that they shot just fuckin' around waiting for his cousin to hook them up with some KFC. It surprises me that he makes money, but he wants the hook up on some KFC HAHAHAHA! This video is funny, but it give it a minute to get into it.

Branding

I just saw this and I'm amazed how the Coca-Cola logo has stayed the same for "years" and Pepsi has gone through more than several brandings. I still prefer Pepsi over Coke any day.

Setting Black People Back Another 400 Years(SMH)!

Wow this fool is crazy and just STUPID! This NIGGA needs help and for the first time I'm ashamed of being black.

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday

I ended up going to Vegas with a few friends and it was fun for the most part, but I think that Vegas is overrated. Besides that, this weekend was filled with drama, lies, and bullshit. This chick is trying to peg me as a liar and I'm not going to take it. I know what happened(plus 2 of the homies know too) and it's been said. Stop acting like you're a motherfuckin' angel. Someone needs to grow up and and not worry about other people not liking them, and trying to go out all the time. They need to focus on taking care of their kids. It's done yo so let it be
