Upcoming Track Day

This coming weekend marks a big day for all US GT-R owners. A few of us have put together an all GT-R track day. We managed to rent the Buttonwillow track for the whole day. At first it turned out to be a testing day for some of us and from the looks of things it turned out to be bigger than that. We made an event out of it. There's going to be people coming from all over California. There will be a total 12 USDM GT-R's (6 modded GT-R's and 6 stock GT-R's). This will be a fun and historical event to take part of. If you're not doing anything Monday Dec. 29th please come out and join us. Videos and pics will be posted up here on my blog, Luxury4play, and NAGTROC.ORG.

Now it Starts

I officially kicked off my snowboarding season today. I went up a local spot called Mt. High with a few friends. They got dumped on big time earlier in the week and the whole valley was covered with 1-3 feet of snow. It is very rare to see this in Southern California. On our first day we all take it easy and warm up for the up and coming sessions through out the year. I plan on going up to Big Bear on Christmas day and a trip to Mammoth on the 27-28.

Sorry I don't have any interesting pics from today's trip, but here you go.

Tanabe GF210 Springs

My car just got fitted with new springs and here is all the info for you guys and gals.

The GF210 coil spring is geared towards maximum performance, without compromising daily driveability. A subtle drop provides an aggressive stance, while the higher spring rates (+20% - 30% over stock) provide excellent handling and vehicle stability characteristics. These springs provide a very noticeable gain in performance when installed.

The GF210 is well mated with a performance shock upgrade to extract the full potential of the coil spring, but will also work with factory equipment.

Each coil spring application is tested for fitment and optimal weight distribution for sportier handling

17mm lower in the front

16mm lower in the rear

Spring rate

10 kg/mm front

7 kg/mm rear

So far so good. I set my setting in comfort mode on the way back home and it was fine. I can feel the difference in the ride and it's more rigid. When track day comes I should know more on how they feel. I would love to try it out this weekend, but the snow is calling me this weekend.

Oldie but goodie

SADE

This woman is so amazing in every way. I would like to meet her one day. I started listening to her when I was a little child because my mother played her music and I was attracted to her voice ever since.

I've been quoted

"It's little more compact than I imagined it would be," says Chris Payne, a visual effects artist and a new GT-R owner. "The rear aero diffuser could be a lot better, but the interior sure has improved. It could be a hell of a track car. Maybe that's the thing to do; buy a base model and just track it."

I'm really looking forward for these to drop

From GT motoring:
Prototype Tein Super Racing Dampers due for release in January or February! We will be testing these for use here as soon as we get the first set in the states from Tein USA

These will be both rebound and compression adjustable with dual EDFC control capabilities. Ride height and spring preload are seperately adjustable as well.

MSRP: TBA

Description:
Developed from actual competition, TEIN was able to create a fully adjustable damper that can be easily tuned for any track and weather conditions. Super Racing Dampers utilize a full-length adjustment system to allow shock length and spring pre-load to be adjusted independently. Separate 16 - way adjustments for compression and rebound damping enable the user to fine tune for any situation. TEIN has incorporated both camber and caster adjustment into the front pillow ball upper mounts for strut type vehicles. External reservoirs on SA type dampers allow for added oil capacity. Spring rates and shock valving were derived from many years of motorsports support, to provide the ultimate damper for competition. Designed and tested for circuit use by advanced and professional drivers who are seeking complete damper tuning capability.

Additional Features
• Steel Construction
• Mono Tube internal construction
• Inverted design for strut type front and rear
• Ride Height adjustable via threaded body and spring seats
• 16 × 16 way adjustable dampers, compression and rebound separately adjustable

word of the day "SQUARE"

So I'm at Lubtsch(misspelled) and some kid who looks to be around the age of 14 asked if I had a square. I went with it and said, "Naw yo, I'm all out." Then I asked myself, "What the FUCK is a square?" I turned to my boy Josh and he told me that it's a cigarette. He said, "Go figure, people call a cylinder object a square, real smart these kids are."

I must be out of the loop now that I'm getting older.

Tis the snowboard season

Last week Monday Mammoth Mt. opened early than excepted. I'm sure most of it is man made but it's still snow to me. I'm looking forward to riding again this season. I've been think all about since my last day riding at June Mt. back in April. There are going to be some BIG trips this coming season. I'm talking about hitting up Tahoe several times and Mammoth every other weekend(try to at least hahahaha). Local spots like Big Bear and Mt. High just don't do it for me. These places are filled with a bunch of assholes that have no respect. Once I start my season, I'll be posting about it. I'll see you guys at the top!

a few pics from Monday 11.10.08

Here are a few pics from this past week.

SEMA

Last week I went to Las Vegas for SEMA. I haven't been to Vegas in 5 years and let me tell you, it's changed. I was late getting on the road because I had to vote and that just took FOREVER! My plan was to arrive in Vegas by 1pm and so I can have sometime to check a few things out and then meet up with afew people around 3pm. That didn't work to well, I was 30 mins late. I made it from LA to Vegas in 3.5hours though :D. I met up with a few members of NAGTROC(north American GTR Owners Club). Later I saw my friend Sean Lee over at 3T motorsport and hungout with them for a bit.
Later that night we all went to Tao and had a blast. I met Shawn(?) and Mikey from Seibon at the table in Tao. Later on the BBI Autosport guys Betim, Joey, and Jared show up and the night went downhill from there LOL. Let's just say I was with the BBI guys for the rest of the night and I didn't know how to get back to the hotel.
The next day I woke up feeling GREAT(yeah right). I headed back to SEMA and I ran into Sean Morris. We started walking around and we ran into Sean Lee. I was amazed how small the auto industry is and how people know each other. It's like my job. We then walked over to see the yellow Axis GTR and we saw James Chen sitting there. We were talking to James for awhile and then Daryl and KC roll up. It was cool to be around good people that know a thing or two in this industry. Later we headed back to 3T Motorsport's booth and we started talking about how to improve the GTR. During our conversation Joey and Betim from BBI show up and it turned out to be a really good conversation.
The next day I met up with Chuck, Davin, John, Shin, and Mr. Kamata of Zele japan (GTR tuners) at the Eneos booth where the Zele car was. The car is simply amazing. The orange looks so much better in person.(Chuck, showgirl, Davin, John, myself, and Mr. Kamata(Zele Japan) Shin took the picture.)

It's all coming together

Awhile back I met Betim, Joey, and Jared over at BBI Autosports. These guys are really cool and when it comes to cars, they know their shit. I took my GT-R over there and I'm having them build some fun mods for my baby. Here's the list of mods that they'll be making:

- Exhaust
- Rear diffuser
- Trans oil cooler
- Steel braided brake lines
- 2nd oil cooler
-Front lip with brake ducts

My Man Jay

I went to Cars and Coffee on Saturday and I had a good time hanging out with Kevin, Daryl from Jspec, and Ivan from NAGTROC.org.

here's a video for you guys.

My GT-R

I went to VCR on Sunday and hung out for a bit. I was about to leave and my friend Alfred showed up in his new 2008 BMW M3. We were chatting it up and then Jay Leno rolls up in a 1927 Bugatti. Everyone started flocking around him. I'm not going to lie because I did too hahaha. After that he wanted to see what kind of cars were there and he went straight to mine. We were talking for a good 20 minutes about the new GT-R. Thanks Jay!

Sorry

I know I haven't been posting lately. I've been out driving my car and working. I sold out last week and I bought a 3g iphone. I had to get a new phone because the the that originally had was a Nokia E90 and I came back from the service center in Europe still not fixed.
Things have changed a little around the work place and it feels weird. They moved me to the back and I laugh at that because I feel like I'm moving to the back of the bus if ya know what I mean. Well I'm no longer in a high traffic area and I don't see my boss that much now which is a plus(long story). I'm just going to ride it out and see how it goes.

Car stuff...
Last week I went to Cars and Coffee in Irvine(it's a car show in a parking lot). There I saw a large amount of Lambo's and F430's. I meet up with a few Porsche guys that I met 2 weeks ago and then we meet up with a few more people on our way there. We all had a good time. I was the last car they let in because I had a GT-R so I was treated like a celebrity in a way. I'm going back again this Saturday to hang out for a bit. I'll post pics of the the event over the weekend.

Oh on August 9th, I'll be displaying my car at the Gumball 3000 event in Hollywood.

My new car

At last the wait is finally over! I picked up my brand new Nissan GT-R yesterday and I love it. Yesterday was a busy day for me. It took about 2.5 hours over going over stuff and chit chatting with the GM and some of the other sales guys. After that I headed over to my insurance company and got the car insured. I spent most of my day in slow ass traffic.
