PingChat VS KIK

I have an iPhone4 and I use ping to connect with my blackberry, Android, and iphone friends. What's good about it is that it's a work around for people who don't have unlimited SMS or MMS plans. PingChat goes off your data plan so you don't get dinged as much if you were to text all the time using SMS.

Kik is the same thing BUT you can't send pics. It does one thing that PingChat doesn't do and that is to check if the receiver read your message or not.

So in the end PingChat is .99 and Kik is free. I'm going to go ahead and stick to using PingChat.

I believe pingchat does tell you the delivery/read status..when you send a msg you'll notice the ' working circle' pops up..once that goes away it means the msg is delivered. Once you see the check mark next to the msg that means its been read. I like ping chat a lot more myself because it allows you to group chat, which is a huge difference in features once you consider picture/video/audio sharing that kik doesn't offer.

Pingchat puts a check mark next to a message that has been read... and in the next update it will have the little "S" and "R" so I don't so what the advantages of Kik are when Pingchat already does the same thing...

Isn't Pinchat free? I didn't pay for it and just downloaded it for free. "Whatsup" is 99 cents though.
